Our translators: Native speakers with specialist expertise
The following basic principles apply when selecting translators:
We always use native speakers of the target language who have appropriate qualifications and professional experience in the relevant field and of the text type in question.
As a rule, our translators live and work in a country where the target language is spoken, thereby ensuring that they are very familiar with the subtleties of the language in its most contemporary form.
It may sometimes also be important that the translator – in excess of the specified qualifications – is familiar with a particular sociolect or technical jargon.
In such cases, translators living in the country where the source language is spoken may also have the advantage.
It is crucial that the translator completely understands all nuances of the source language and has a flawless, flexible and stylistically confident command of the target language.
Content and terminology check
Since even an expert professional is not immune from making mistakes and, as everybody knows, four eyes are better than two, all translations are thoroughly checked by an independent editor for content, linguistic/stylistic and terminological accuracy prior to delivery to the customer.
